Halloween

The Ghost Who Was Scared of Kids

Every Halloween, a monster roars in the attic. This year, going up for the candy bucket, the kids find out the monster is Boo: a teeny ghost who’s allergic to dust and gets scared by his own name. They have to get him to the clock tower before nine, when the ghost trolley comes by, down a street full of costumes.

Here’s how it looked with Mia and Leo

The first page

Everybody on Maple Street knew that a monster lived in the attic of Mia’s house. Nobody had ever seen it. But every Halloween night, you could hear it roar:

AH-CHOOOOO!

And every window on the street rattled.

That Halloween, Mia was dressed as a skeleton. Leo was a pumpkin. All they needed was the candy bucket. And the candy bucket was in the attic.

They tiptoed up the stairs with a flashlight. The attic smelled like dust and old trunks.

And then, from behind Grandma’s old trunk…

AH-CHOOOOO!
