In a nutshell
- Starring Tales is for adults (18+) who create stories for children in their care. Children don’t have accounts.
- We sell personalized, illustrated stories (5, 10 or 15 minutes of reading) with a printable PDF. You pay for each one or use stars.
- During our gift campaigns, your first 5-minute story is free when you verify your email. One per person, subject to daily availability.
- Prices are in US dollars. In the US, sales tax is added at checkout where it applies; elsewhere, VAT or GST is included where it applies.
- The club renews automatically every month until you cancel. We email you 7 days before each renewal, and you can cancel online with one button.
- You can cancel packs and the club within 14 days for a refund of the stars you haven’t used. A story that has already been created can’t be refunded.
- If we can’t illustrate at least half of a story, we refund it automatically in stars; if you paid by card, you can ask for your money back instead.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming.

1. Who we are and these terms
Starring Tales is a trade name of Elite Digital Services LLC (Wyoming, USA). In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Elite Digital Services LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (USA), and “you” means the adult who uses the service.
- Address: 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA
- Email: hello@starringtales.com
- Phone: +1 (786) 607-0437 (also on WhatsApp)
These Terms of Service (version 2026-10-15) govern your use of Starring Tales and every purchase you make. By creating an account, ticking the box before creating a story or paying, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our company information page lists our details.
These terms are written in English, and the English version prevails. We also offer a Spanish translation for your convenience.
2. Who can use the service
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. The service is offered to consumers for personal and family use.
- Stories are about children, but the account is always an adult’s: children may read and enjoy the books with you, but they must not create accounts, fill in the story form or make purchases.
- Before your first story or purchase, you confirm that you are 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children in your stories, or that you have their parent’s or guardian’s permission. You only enter details about other people (relatives, friends, teachers) if you have their permission or, for children, their family’s.
3. What we sell
Each story is custom-made digital content: a text written for the characters, setting and value you choose, with a unique illustration for the cover and for each page, painted with artificial intelligence while trying to keep the same characters throughout, and a print-ready PDF (landscape double-page spreads, in US Letter or A4 size depending on where you are). You read it on the website, it stays in your account and it has its own link for sharing.
There are three lengths, in minutes of reading aloud:
- 5 minutes: about 800 words and 8 illustrations, cover included; 3 stars, or $4.99 on its own.
- 10 minutes: about 1,500 words and 10 illustrations, cover included; 4 stars, or $6.99 on its own.
- 15 minutes: about 2,200 words and 12 illustrations, cover included; 5 stars, or $8.99 on its own.
We also sell personalized classics: stories whose text and art direction are already written (with the help of artificial intelligence) and reviewed by us, and which are the same for everyone, with your children as the main characters. We paint a new book for you, with an illustration for the cover and each page and the same PDF. Each one costs 2 stars, or $3.99 on its own.
We don’t ship printed books. On the website you may also see voice narration and an animated video marked “Coming soon”: they are not part of any purchase, and we don’t promise to offer them by any date.
4. Your account and the free story
Your account has no password: you enter your email address and we send you a single-use sign-in link that expires after 30 minutes. Use an email address that is yours and keep access to it secure; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
The welcome gift is a limited-time promotion, subject to daily availability: it is only given during a gift campaign, and the terms of each campaign (its name and how long it lasts) are shown on the website. If all of that day’s gifts have already been given, your account is still created and we give you the gift when you come back another day, if the campaign is still on and gifts are available. Gifts already given are honored until they expire. While a campaign is on, the first time you sign in, when you verify your email, we give you the stars for one personalized classic (2 stars), which expire after 90 days. The free story is one per person: it is not given to disposable email addresses or more than once to the same mailbox (even if the address is written differently or the account is deleted and created again), and we limit free stories from the same connection to prevent abuse.
You can delete your account at any time in “My account”. Your stories and stars are deleted, and your club membership is canceled if you have one. Deleting your account doesn’t give you a refund of unused stars, except as described in section 11. If you don’t sign in for 3 years and don’t have an active club membership, we may delete your account in the same way, after emailing you 30 days before; signing in once keeps it.
5. Stars
Stars are your account balance for creating stories: a 5-minute story uses 3 stars, a 10-minute one 4 stars, a 15-minute one 5 stars and a personalized classic 2 stars. When you create a story, free-story stars (which expire) are used first, and then your oldest stars.
- Stars you buy never expire. Stars from single stories, packs and the club stay in your account for as long as it exists, and unused club stars keep adding up with no limit, even after you cancel. Only the free-story stars expire, after 90 days, because they are a promotional gift; “My account” shows when.
- Stars are a prepaid way to use our service. They have no cash value, are not a gift card or a deposit, and can’t be sold, transferred to another account or exchanged for money, except for the refunds in sections 10 and 11 or where the law requires otherwise.
6. Prices, taxes and payment
- Single story: 5 minutes, $4.99; 10 minutes, $6.99; 15 minutes, $8.99; personalized classic, $3.99.
- Little Pack: 9 stars for $9.99, one-time payment.
- Family Pack: 30 stars for $24.99, one-time payment.
- Story Club: 12 stars a month for $9.99 a month, renewing automatically every month until you cancel (section 7).
Taxes. Prices are in US dollars. In the United States, prices don’t include sales tax: where it applies, it is calculated from your billing address and added at checkout. Outside the United States, prices include VAT, GST or similar taxes where they apply. Checkout always shows the total you will pay, taxes included, before you confirm. If your card is in another currency, your bank may convert the amount and charge its own fees.
Payments are processed by Stripe on its secure page, by card or with the other methods it shows you (for example, Apple Pay or Google Pay). We never receive your full card details.
7. The club: automatic renewal and cancellation
- The Story Club is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Each month it is charged to the same payment method at the price you agreed to ($9.99 a month, plus sales tax where it applies) and you receive 12 stars. Unused club stars never expire: they keep adding up from month to month.
- Before you join, we show you these terms next to the button, and you agree to the automatic renewal by ticking the box. After you join, we email you a confirmation with the price, how often you’ll be charged and how to cancel.
- We email you 7 days before each renewal, with the date and the amount.
- You can cancel online at any time in “My account”, with one button and no phone calls or emails needed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for: until then the club stays active, you won’t be charged again and you keep all your stars, which never expire. We confirm the cancellation by email, and you can reactivate the club before that date.
- If a monthly payment fails, no stars arrive that month until it is paid.
- If we change the club’s price, we will email you at least 7 and no more than 30 days before the new price applies to you, with the new amount and how to cancel. If you don’t cancel, the new price applies from your next renewal.
8. How to order
- Choose a single story (when you create it), a pack or the club (on “Pricing”, in your account or after a story).
- Tick the box to accept these terms. If you are buying or creating a story, in the same box you ask us to start creating it right away (sections 10 and 12). The first time, you also confirm that you are 18 or older and a parent or guardian (section 2).
- You go to Stripe’s payment page, check the total and confirm. If you cancel or the payment doesn’t go through, you aren’t charged.
We record the date and time you accepted these terms and their version. After each purchase we email you an order confirmation with what you bought, the amount charged and the taxes, your acceptance, and the cancellation and refund information; Stripe also emails you a receipt. These terms are always available on this page.
9. Delivery
When you create a story (with stars, or once payment for a single story is confirmed), we write it in a moment and take you to your book’s page: you can read it straight away and the illustrations appear as they are painted, usually within a few minutes. Then we put together the PDF. You can close the page: the work carries on, and the book will be waiting in “My account”.
Stars from packs and the club are added to your account as soon as payment is confirmed.
10. If a story doesn’t turn out well
- Automatic retries: each illustration is attempted several times, the last one with a simpler description, and anything that fails is retried automatically.
- Review: each illustration is checked automatically against the story. If a serious problem remains, a member of our team may check it before we deliver it; this can delay that illustration by up to 24 hours, and if it can’t be fixed, we use the fallback scene.
- Fallback scene: if an illustration still can’t be painted, we deliver the book and the PDF with the rest; the missing pages show a simple landscape of the setting, without characters or text.
- Automatic refund: if we can’t paint at least 50% of a story’s illustrations, or can’t write it in the language you chose, we refund it without you having to ask: if you paid with stars, we put them back in your account; if you bought it on its own, we give you the stars that story costs (they never expire) so you can paint it again or create another. If you’d rather have your money back (taxes included, to the same payment method), you can ask for it with one click on the book’s page while you haven’t used those stars, or at any time by writing to hello@starringtales.com. You keep the book with whatever was painted.
- If something else is wrong with your book (for example, the PDF doesn’t download or is damaged), write to us at hello@starringtales.com: we will fix it free of charge or, if we can’t, refund it.
11. Cancellations and refunds
- Stories (single or paid with stars) are personalized digital content that we start creating as soon as you ask. Once created, they can’t be canceled or refunded, except as described in section 10.
- Packs and the club: you can cancel within 14 calendar days of the purchase (for the club, of joining or of each monthly payment). We refund the part of what you paid (taxes included) that matches the stars you haven’t used; stars already used for stories are not refunded. Canceling a club payment also ends the club right away.
- How: in “My account”, under “Cancel a purchase”, choose the purchase and confirm, or write to us at hello@starringtales.com. We email you a confirmation and refund the amount to the same payment method within 14 days (it usually shows up within 5–10 business days).
- Apart from these cases and those required by law, payments are non-refundable. Canceling the club stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund months already started, except as described above.
12. Customers in the EU, the EEA and the UK
If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights that the consumer law of your country gives you, and nothing in these terms limits them. In particular:
- Right of withdrawal. You generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For stories, which are digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, that right ends once we start creating the story with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you lose it; that’s why we ask you to confirm it in the box before creating or buying a story, and we confirm it in your order email. For packs and the club, you may withdraw within 14 days as described in section 11, and the “Cancel a purchase” button in “My account” is our withdrawal function. You can also use the model withdrawal form provided by your country’s law or simply write to us.
- Conformity. We are responsible for any lack of conformity of the digital content under your country’s law (in the EU, for at least two years from supply). The illustrations are made by artificial intelligence: each one is unique and the characters may vary slightly from page to page, which is part of the product described in section 3.
- Courts and law. You keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
13. AI-generated content and what you enter
- The text and illustrations are generated with artificial intelligence services (see our Privacy Policy). We guide and review the process with safety rules suited to children, but generated content can contain mistakes or surprises. Read each story before sharing it with a child.
- You are responsible for what you enter in the form. Use first names or nicknames only, don’t enter exact addresses, health details or other sensitive information, and don’t enter anything unlawful, hateful, violent or sexual, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We automatically review what you write so the story is right for children and doesn’t use copyrighted characters: if something doesn’t fit, we ask you to change it before charging you, and characters from films, TV or games are replaced with characters of our own. We may refuse or stop a story that breaks these rules.
- You give us permission to use what you enter only to create, deliver and store your stories and to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Your book and our rights
Your book is for personal and family use: you may read it, print it, give it as a gift and share its link. You may not sell it or use it commercially without our written permission. To the extent we hold any rights in your book, we grant you this license for as long as you like. Anyone who has your book’s link can view it (see the Privacy Policy).
The website, its design, code, texts, sample stories and illustrations, and the Starring Tales name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy them or use them for other purposes without our permission.
15. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no automated access or scraping, no attempts to break its security or limits, no creating several accounts to get more free stories, no reselling, and no using it to harm children or anyone else.
16. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work hard to make the service reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don’t guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you; they never limit liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence), nor your statutory rights as a consumer.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after warning you where possible. If we close your account without a breach on your part, or stop offering the service, we will refund the stars you haven’t used and give you time to download your PDFs.
18. Governing law and disputes
Please write to us first at hello@starringtales.com: most problems can be solved quickly, and we’ll try to do so within 30 days.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard by the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in a small claims court where you live. If you are a consumer outside the United States, you also keep the rights described in section 12.
California residents: under California Civil Code §1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
19. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will post the new version here with its date and, if the changes are significant, email you before they apply. Each purchase is governed by the version you accepted; for the club, changes apply from the next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
20. Contact and customer service
For any question, complaint or claim, write to us at hello@starringtales.com, or by mail to Elite Digital Services LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. We will reply as soon as possible, and within 14 days at the latest.
